Try a Trend: Kimono Knockout

I have to admit kimonos have never been on my list of exciting things to wear…until now. Since I am only 5’4 I tend to stay away from shapeless clothing. But this summer I noticed that kimonos were having a moment and that moment is sashaying into the fall season here in the northern hemisphere. So I decided to try this one out and surprise, I absolutely love it! It is soooo comfortable and I adore how glamorous I feel when wearing this particular kimono. There’s just something about wearing a garment that catches the breeze when you walk. It is fabulosity at it’s best! I paired it with a ribbed stretch jersey dress, but it can be worn with pants and a t-shirt too. I would just opt for form fitting clothing underneath the kimono so that the clothing does not swallow you up. Have you ever seen someone who looks like they are a larger size than what they actually are? Yeah, you don’t wanna go for that look…unless you do then by all means have a it girl!

The versatility of the kimono is also a plus. As a working mom who also has a side hustle, I don’t have a lot of time to think about what I’m going to wear. I need to be able to throw something on and know I’m still killing it! Kimonos come in so many fabrics and prints that make it fairly easy to dress them up or down. The one I chose to share with you guys below is a beautiful bright coral color with a Japanese inspired print along the bottom. Although I am not that into prints, this one is just enough for me. Enjoy!
