The monochromatic makeup trend is sweeping through 2017 and of course I had to try it out. I really like this trend because it is fairly easy to pull off. As a mom on the go who is NOT a professional makeup artist, I need a look that I can quickly slap on my face! The best part about this trend is that some products can be used multiple ways! For instance, some cheek rouges can also be used on the lips and eyelids. For my look, I decided to try a peachy coral look using NYX Professional Makeup. This entire look is under $30 and was extremely easy to achieve. Just click on each product link to purchase.

Mineral Stick Foundation in Deep Honey $10

I was pleasantly surprised by this foundation’s formula. It went on very easily and melted into my skin immediately. I placed a few strokes on my forehead, cheeks, and chin then blended everything out with a sponge. Next, I went back over additional areas of my face that needed more foundation. This portable tube is also great when you’re on the go or want to contour, and with 15 shades to choose from you shouldn’t have a problem finding what you need. I’m definitely going to purchase another stick in a lighter color for when I want to achieve a contoured look.

Rouge Cream Blush in Tickled $6

Blush is my absolute must have makeup product and this one by NYX has me smitten. It is a mineral cream blush in a shimmery peachy-pink that can also be worn as a highlighter. I would even go as far to say that it can be worn on the lips and eyelids as well. I used my finger to apply this product to the apples of my cheeks by gently tapping it into my skin and then blending outward towards the hairline. I repeated this process until I achieved the effect that I desired. It’s up to you how much or little of this product you want to wear. Just make sure you start off light and build until you like what you see. This is definitely a versatile product that will leave you looking like a dewy goddess and for $6 it’s a win-win!

Prismatic Shadow in Fireball $6

This picture does not even do this shadow any justice! I could not get the shot I wanted but these shadows look absolutely luscious on the eyelids! NYX describes these glistening Prismatic Shadows as kaleidoscope color and I have to agree. When I applied this shadow I couldn’t believe how velvety smooth it felt. Then I saw the gorgeous holographic effect and feel in love. I featured this shadow in the shade Fireball which is described as a rusty orange with red opulence. It is highly pigmented and looks magical when blended out, but it can also be worn as a dramatic cateye. This shadow comes in 12 colors and I think I want them all!

Suede Matte Liner in Orange County $4

Say hello to this must-have suede matte lip pencil from NYX! This lip pencil was created to provide a nice base for the Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick. It goes on smooth and could honestly be worn all by itself. Just make sure you thoroughly exfoliate those lips! This color is highly pigmented and ultra matte. Definitely a great quality product for the cost. Not feeling this color? You are in luck, there are 35 other colors to choose from!

Lip Lustre Glossy Lip Tint in Juicy Peach $7

I decided to do a glossy lip with this monochromatic look so I choose this glossy lip tint by NYX. This lippie goes on glossy but actually acts like a lip stain. When applied it feels very smooth and not at all sticky, eventually adjusting to a beautiful tint. I did use the suede matte lip pencil pictured above, although it is meant to be used with the Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick because I’m a rebel…hee hee. Fortunately, both products work together very well. Although, this gloss is not REALLY a gloss because it does turn into a tint, I do love it. It is long-lasting and surprisingly hydrating. There are 13 shades to choose from, enjoy!
