Fall is right around the corner and for me that means it’s time to freshen up my wardrobe. So I thought I would share a few things I picked up, as well as some of the trends that are showing up all over the place. There are so many great looks for the upcoming season, but here are my top favorites: the off the shoulder stripped tee with 3/4 length sleeves, the structured denim shirt dress, the bomber jacket, and the best color combo of the season (in my opinion) olive and brown or some variation of brown. I hope you are inspired, enjoy!
Shoulders have been the hot commodity this past spring and summer seasons. Even though fall is around the corner, I don’t think they’re getting covered up anytime soon. The sleeves have just gotten longer! Like this 3/4 long sleeved off the shoulder tee that I got from HM ($12.99). It comes in black, white, blush, and this navy and white stripped one here that I’m wearing. Nautical stripes are also another popular summer trend that is running over into the fall season.
The shirt dress is a classic that always deserves to be revisited. They were a staple this past summer but you don’t have to leave them there. Instead try a warmer fabric like denim, another upcoming fall trend that is everywhere from skirts to shirts to jackets! This dress is from Nordstrom rack (sold out/click for similar version).
Olive seems to be the color of the moment this fall season. Every time I see a fall clothing display or advertisement – I see an olive cargo jacket, which is fine with me. Although, I love my pops of color, I do prefer neutrals. They look so effortless, yet make a powerful statement. I paired this olive dress from Target (sold out/click for similar version) with this tan vegan leather baseball hat ($13) and these tan booties (sold out/click for alternative option) from Lulu’s. I really love olive and tan together, they compliment each other very well.
The bomber jacket has been popular for the last few fall seasons. Up until now, the classic black sateen bomber is probably what comes to mind when you think about a bomber jacket – or at least it’s what comes to my mind. Recently, bomber jackets are more gussied up than usual. I’ve seen bombers with everything from 3-D sequin flower blooms to beautifully embroidered patterns. I chose the more traditional style in a nude hue from Forever 21 (sold out/click for similar version).
